Our NHL sized skating rink has ice
in it all year round. We are able to keep the ice
in by using the geothermal technology. It works by sucking
the heat out of the ice and pumping it to the rest of the
building eliminating the need of natural gas furnaces. Our
main cost is the electricity needed to run the pumps.
We have two heated viewing areas for the skating rink,
one on the lower floor next to the concession and one upstairs.
There is also a set of bleachers "outside" next
to the ice. All three are conected to the PA system.
There are six large dressing rooms next to the ice, and
a protective netting that goes from the boards up to the
rafters.
